For September, Plague Circus Press will publish a curated series of poetry and flash fiction responding to the cultural landscape of the 2000–2010 period.
Submissions should engage with the textures, artefacts, and atmosphere of the era, whether directly or obliquely.
Submissions should contain movement, incident, or emotional weight. Lists of references alone are not sufficient.
There is no word limit for this writing call; pieces can be as long as they need to be.
We do, however, encourage the micro forms: works of exactly 100 words, a single paragraph, a sentence, a fragment, or a single word.
Send submissions as DOCX files to occissident@gmail.com, formatted in letter page size, 1.15 line spacing, 12 pt Times New Roman.
Edits may be suggested prior to acceptance. Rights remain with the author. Work may be reprinted in future anthologies.
Once a piece has been accepted and a preview link issued, no further edits are permitted. Requests for post-acceptance changes may result in withdrawal of acceptance.
No simultaneous submissions. We typically respond with a decision within a single day.
Please include “PCP2000” in the subject line of your submission email. There are thirty publication slots available. Once filled, the call will close.
If the sky were to suddenly open up, there would be no law, there would be no rule. There would only be you and your memories.
